With several speculations doing rounds over the Bollywood debut of Sridevi’s daughter, Jhanvi Kapoor since a year here’s the final confirmation. Jhanvi will be seen opposite Shahid Kapoor’s brother Ishaan Khattar in the Hindi remake of Marathi blockbuster Sairat. As per reports, this film will also mark her big Bollywood debut.
Trade analyst Ramesh Bala took to Twitter to confirm the news and wrote, “#JhanviKapoor and #IshaanKhattar starrer Hindi remake of Marathi Blockbuster #Sairat will go on da floors from Dec 1st.. @karanjohar co-prod”.
Hinting at the Bollywood debut of Jhanvi, father and filmmaker Boney Kapoor had earlier said in a statement, “Yes, Karan has been talking to us about a film for Jhanvi and we’ve given consent. But we don’t know which project it would be. Since Karan has recently acquired the remake rights of Sairat it is being presumed that our daughter would be launched in this project.”
The film will go on the floors on December 1 and will be co-produced under the banner of Dharma Productions.
Sairat is a romantic drama based on honour killing. The Marathi blockbuster that revolves around the exceptional love story of Parshya, a backward class guy and Archie a privileged class girl. The characters were originally played by debutants Akash Thosar and Rinku Rajguru who were praised and admired for their performance. The film basically aims to stump out the caste system and inequality prevalent in the Indian society since years.

While on the other hand, Jhanvi’s contemporary and Saif Ali Khan’s daughter Sara Ali Khan has already wrapped up the shoot for her debut film Kedarnath where she will be seen sharing screen space with Sushant Singh Rajput.
