Akshay Kumar’s Rustom is reaching new heights with each passing day at the box office. The movie, which is loosely based on the infamous case of KM Nanavati vs State of Maharashtra, struck the right chords with the audiences. Despite the box office clash with director Ashutosh Gowariker’s Mohenjo Daro starring Hrithik Roshan and Pooja Hegde, Rustom managed to rake in the moolah at the box office. It minted over Rs 50 crore within three days of release.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote, “
#Rustom had a FABULOUS Sun… Crosses ₹ 50 cr mark.. Mon [Independence Day holiday] will boost the biz further… SMASH HIT…” He also gave out the numbers, “ #Rustom Fri 14.11 cr, Sat 16.43 cr, Sun 19.88 cr. Total: ₹ 50.42 cr. India biz. TERRIFIC!”
Trade analysts have been predicting Rs 100-crore business for this Akshay Kumar starrer since the movie will be benefitted by Monday also being a holiday due to Independence Day. Rustom has also been garnering praises for its intriguing storyline and Akshay Kumar’s new avatar seems to have worked wonders for the film.
