On the afternoon of April 26, Riva Arora placed a routine order on Blinkit. By 3:30 pm, the delivery had turned into a police complaint.

The actor, known for her roles in Uri: The Surgical Strike and Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, recalled that the delivery agent who arrived at her door that day was rude from the moment he showed up. When she responded, things did not improve. Her mother, Nisha Arora, stepped in to calm the situation down, and the agent continued regardless. When her sister Muskan Arora encountered him in the lift as he was leaving, he kept at it. “Disrespectful, inappropriate, and crass language was directed at us without any provocation. It wasn’t just a one-time remark, he continued speaking in that manner repeatedly,” Riva told Hindustan Times .

By Riva Arora’s account, the ordeal lasted for 30-40 minutes, beginning at their front door and continuing as he made his way out of the building. The family followed him downstairs and stopped him from leaving the premises before calling Mumbai Police. “We immediately contacted the Mumbai Police, who responded very quickly and arrived on the spot to take action,” she said. Officers arrived promptly and handled the matter. The case is currently being processed through appropriate channels.

A formal complaint has also been filed with Blinkit. “We are currently awaiting a clear response and resolution from their side,” Riva added.

Her larger point, though, goes beyond what happened to her specifically. Riva Arora explained that the incident made her think about what platforms owe the people using their services, not just in terms of logistics but in terms of how their agents behave at the door. “Delivery companies need stricter screening, proper communication training, and clearer behavioural guidelines for their personnel,” she said. The actor also credited her building’s security staff for stepping in and helping her family manage the situation on the day.

“It’s about accountability and mutual respect. It’s important not to normalise or ignore disrespectful behavior, no matter how small it may seem. Speaking up is necessary, not just for oneself, but to ensure such incidents don’t happen to others,” Riva concluded.
