Rajkumar Santoshi is all set for his next film Battle of Saragarhi. And guess who is the lead actor? Putting an end to all speculations, Randeep Hooda, who has already proved his capabilities in his last release Sarbjit, is all set to take on new challenges.
The actor took to Twitter to unveil his first look from the film Battle of Saragarhi. Randeep wrote: #RandeepGoesToWar as #HavaldarIsharSingh! #BattleOfSaragirhi #1897
The films are based on the Battle of Saragarhi that took place in 1897 between British Indian Army and Afghan Orakzai tribesmen in the North-West Frontier Province. Randeep, as mentioned in the Twitter, will be seen playing the role of Havildar Ishar Singh, the military commander of the 36th Sikhs in the movie.
The film will depict the true story of the 19th century battle when around 12,000 Afghans attacked a British Indian contingent, which also comprised 21 Sikhs who went on to become the heroes of the mission. Going by the first look, the actor will be seen sporting a turban and a beard.
Rahul Mittra, CEO of Wave Cinemas recently revealed that Randeep has already started prepping for the role and will learn skills like sword fighting and shooting with vintage guns. He will also undergo physical training to beef up his body to portray the role of a military commander. Randeep is known for going the extra mile for his films.

We wonder how this actor will mould himself in this role as Randeep has set the bars of experimentation too high after his shocking transformation for Sarabjit Singh biopic. The actor had then lost 18 kgs in 28 days and was almost unrecognisable.
Battle of Saragarhi is being produced by Raju Chadha under the banner of Wave Cinemas.
