Ranbir Kapoor has found himself in the midst of trolling once again. The actor has been targeted by trolls after he was seen eating non-vegetarian food in the show Dining With The Kapoors, which features the Kapoor clan celebrating the 100th birth anniversary of the legendary Raj Kapoor. The special episode released on Netflix. Trolls claimed that the actor had quit non-vegetarian food and alcohol to prepare for his role as Lord Ram in Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming epic Ramayana.

What is the viral video from Dining With The Kapoors?

In the clip from Dining With The Kapoors, Armaan Jain is seen serving fish curry rice, junglee mutton, paya and some vegetarian dishes to the entire Kapoor family gathered at the table. Ranbir is seen seated at the table with Neetu Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Rima Jain, Saif Ali Khan and other members of the Kapoor family. The video shows the family passing dishes around the table and enjoying the meal. However, all the shots in the show were wide shots, and the camera wasn’t focused on Ranbir’s plate.

What did Ranbir say about quitting non-veg?

In an old interview from 2023, taken even before Ranbir had started work on Ramayana, the actor had admitted to leaving non-vegetarian food and alcohol for the sake of his health and also for the well-being of his daughter Raha, who was an infant at that time. He had said, “I always wanted to take this paternity leave. So it all happened at the right now. Right now my focus is just to spend time with my daughter, I have changed a lot of my lifestyle. I have quit smoking, drinking. I have become vegetarian and I am doing a lot of yoga and meditation. So, I’m really trying to clean up my life. In my 40s, trying to be healthy for my kid and for my self.”

Fans’ reaction

The video from the show has been going viral, and fans are targeting Ranbir’s PR team for promoting the narrative that he gave up non-vegetarian food for the sake of Ramayana’s promotion. A comment wrote, “Ranbir Kapoor’s PR team claimed he gave up non vegetarian food out of respect for playing Lord Ram in the Ramayana movie but he is seen enjoying fish curry, mutton, and paya with his family. Ranbir Kapoor has the most effective PR in Bollywood. #DiningWithTheKapoors.” Another comment wrote, “I think PR teams of Bollywood actors should be fired, especially that of RK and Alia Bhatt. What was the need to make claims of leaving non-veg and drinks for the role? Who asked? If they had kept their mouth shut at that time, they wouldn’t be facing this unnecessary heat at present.”
