Kabali, Rajinikanth, Kabali's Hindi promo, Kabali Hindi, Kabali promo, Kabali Rajinikanth, Kabali movie, Kabali mania, rajini Kabali, rajinikanth kabali fan, rajinikanth movie, rajinikanth action The kind of fan frenzy that was seen across India was unprecedented .

It’s that time of the year again when superstar Rajinikanth has hit the theatres with his next blockbuster, Kabali. Not just theatres and walls even buses and planes have posters the film on them. The kind of fan frenzy that was seen across India was unprecedented – from 5 am shows to corporates declaring the day as an off, Kabali release day was no less than a festival.

The Indian Express’ critic Shubhra Gupta called Kabali a drag. “Everything that Rajini does to spark untold hysteria amongst his die-hard fans is in here: the dress code (three-piece suits), the dark glasses, the lines only Rajini can say, the kicks and punches only he can deliver. But the formula is now frayed and tired: there’s neither swag nor swagger.”

Her views quite matched with  Goutham VS who had hit the theatres early in the morning for a quick review, nevertheless, he appreciated the presence of Radhika Apte and Rajinikanth finally abandoning his sunglasses and usual young looking appearance.

“Take away the dramatic script and lagging screenplay and Kabali is an unusual Rajinikanth film, which manages to combine the actor’s mass appeal with a nuanced character. And hey, we get to see Rajini play his age finally!,” Goutham VS mentioned.

However, not everyone is a film critic who enters the theatre in search of a rooted story. Some just enter to have a light hearted moment with family and popcorn. In fact, fans loved their favourite star onscreen and called the film sensational.

Speaking exclusively to Indian Express.com, Madhur Bhandarkar who was there to watch the film in the morning, said, “I wanted to watch Rajini sir’s movie at Aurora where you get a real feel of all Rajinikanth movies. I am expecting nothing but pure massy entertainment from Kabali. For someone who can generate such massive buzz without even lifting a finger for promoting his film in Mumbai, imagine what the atmosphere would be in Chennai. I reckon the movie crossing the 300 crore mark with ease.”
