It is an overcrowded Friday this week as a cocktail of as many as nine small budget and controversial films hit the screen.

First up is controversy queen Poonam Pandey’s Bollywood debut film Nasha. The film, which marks the debut of the former Kingfisher girl, has already been in the news for all the wrong reasons.

Poonam Pandey’s bold posters were torn and burnt in two metropolitan cities. The film, which has been directed by Jism director Amit Saxena,is sure going to grab eyeballs for its bold content.

Next up is director Manish Tiwari’s Issaq featuring Prateik Babbar and debutante Amyra Dastur. After two successful love stories this year – Raanjhanaa and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani – can this modern take on Romeo and Juliet make its mark? Only time can tell!

In the third release, actors Vinay Pathak and Ranvir Shorey are joining hands with Tusshar Kapoor for a laugh riot Bajatey Raho. National award winning actress Dolly Ahluwalia of Vicky Donor fame will also be seen in a pivotal role in the film helmed by the Dasvidaniya director Sushant Shah.

Veteran actor Rati Agnihotri’s son Tanuj is all set to make his Bollywood debut with Love U Soniyo. However with Poonam Pandey’s bold avatar the actor seems to have slipped out of sight!

Hugh Jackman starrer The Wolverine of X-men franchise is also likely to give tough competition to Bollywood.

For all the Priyanka Chopra fans, the Pixar-Disney animation film Planes dubbed into Hindi with Priyanka Chopra as the protagonist’s voice,is also hitting theatres this Friday.

Tollywood calling – As Main Hoon Surya Singham 2 also release amidst the chaotic Friday! The dubbed Hindi version of the Tamil Singham‘s sequel with superstar Suriya and Anushka Shetty should find takers.

Next up is Buddha – a biopic with newcomer Abhishek Urade in the title role. New director Praveen Damle is at the helm of this modestly budgeted biopic.

Arunoday Singh and Kitu Gidwani will be seen in Ek Bura Aadmi, which is helmed by new director Ishraq Shah.

Take your pick.
