Okay to run down anyone for a few laughs: Rishi Kapoor on Ranveer, Arjun’s Ranbir jokes at IIFA

"It’s alright, yaar. It is okay to run down anyone for a few laughs in this industry. Ranbir is going through that phase in his career when he is facing flak for his choice of films, and rightly so," said Rishi Kapoor.

From apologising to the audiences for their movie ‘Gunday’ and AIB Roast controversy, to Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma’s ‘Bombay Velvet’, they mocked everyone.

Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor, at the recently held IIFA night, didn’t spare anybody when it came to cracking jokes and making fun of the Bollywood stars.

From apologising to the audiences for their movie ‘Gunday’ and AIB Roast controversy, to Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma’s ‘Bombay Velvet’, they mocked everyone.

In one of the jokes, Ranveer and Arjun said, “Ranbir Kapoor should have been named a Roti in Bombay Velvet as his co-star Anushka Sharma was named Rosie, that ultimately means ‘Rosie-Roti’. And they both took the Rosie-Roti away from Anurag Kashyap’s pocket.”

There was no reaction of Ranbir on this, but one would expect his father and veteran actor Rishi Kapoor to react on this matter. But contrary to ealier times, remains unfazed by all this.

According to a report published in BusinessOfCinema.com, Rishi Kapoor has said, “It’s alright, yaar. It is okay to run down anyone for a few laughs in this industry. Ranbir is going through that phase in his career when he is facing flak for his choice of films, and rightly so. He has made some mistakes. He will emerge a stronger, wiser and more learned actor after his suicidal career decisions. All actors go through lean phases. It’s part and parcel of growing as an actor.”

That’s true. Hope Ranbir too takes it in the right spirit.
