Two distinctly different films release this weekend – Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s ‘Manjhi – The Mountain Man’ and Abhishek Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor’s ‘All Is Well’.
While All Is Well is a light hearted family entertainer that outlines the generation gap between a father and his son, Manjhi is a hard hitting biopic that talks about love, determination and devotion.
‘All Is Well’ stars veteran actors like Rishi Kapoor and Supriya Pathak, who surely would invite people to the shows. Abhishek’s love interest in the movie is played by Asin, who has recently been in the news for her impending marriage with Micromax co-founder Rahul Sharma. This has certainly upped the movie’s stakes.
The songs, especially ‘Baaton Ko Teri’, too have hit the right chord with the audiences and swiftly and gradually climbed up the chartbusters’ list.
‘Manjhii – The Mountain Man’, as described by its director Ketan Mehta, is an extra ordinary story of an ordinary man, who takes on a mountain for the woman he loved. Played beautifully by one of the most talented actors of the Indian Film industry – Nawazuddin Siddiqui, the movie talks about true love and determination and most of all, passion.
Nawaz has often been seen comparing Dasrath Manjhi’s passion with his and Mehta has also described his “struggling for 15 years in Bollywood” with breaking a mountain. This has surely helped the movie and has registered for a decent opening.
Also, after her short film ‘Ahalya’, Radhika Apte is the cynosure of many eyes and is wanted on the big screen.
Both movies have been promoted well and are thereby, expected to start off good, until the word of mouth sweeps in and might make things a bit in favour of Manjhi and his ‘Maheriya’.
