After a good run at the box office, with films such as Bombay Talkies, Aatma, and The Lunchbox, actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has an interesting line-up of films in 2014. The actor has just finished shooting for a project under Phantom Films, titled Ghoom Ketu, in which he plays a struggling writer. “Ghoom Ketu is an out-and-out comedy film. It’s about a writer who comes to Mumbai from Banaras, and wants to write a good film. He struggles, but doesn’t succeed and ultimately goes back,” says Siddiqui. Apart from this film, Siddiqui shall also be seen in the Salman Khan starrer Kick. However the actor says he cannot talk about the role. Siddiqui will be producing a short film, that is directed by his brother Shammas Siddiqui. “It’s a short film, titled Mia Kal Aana, which was shot in our village, Budhana and is produced by me. The story is centered around the issue of talaak (divorce), that a Muslim man can give his wife by repeating the word three times. But, if he feels he has made a mistake, he can remarry the same woman, only if she marries another man first and divorces him thereafter,” he says. Meanwhile, the actor’s critically acclaimed film, Miss Lovely, that was first screened at the Cannes Film Festival in the UnCertain Regard category will release on January 17 in 400 screens across India.
