While the film industry and India rejoiced at Marathi movie ‘Court‘s selection as India’s official entry to the Oscars next year, veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah seems not too impressed with the Oscar row.
At the trailer launch of ‘Charlie Kay Chakkar Main’ when we asked Naseeruddin Shah who had recently expressed his delight at the revival of Marathi cinema about ‘Court’s chances at the Oscars next year, the actor said, “I don’t really care about the Oscars. Court is one of the finest films and in fact the best film to have released in recent times. I don’t know why we hanker after this Oscar business.”

Expressing his disapproval over the unnecessary noise created for the Oscars race, Naseeruddin further added: “I think it should be enough for makers of Court that the film has been liked and much appreciated in our own country and that is what matters.”
