Dressed head-to-toe in a custom black suit, SRK walks the famed steps glowing in cool blue, with white flowers hugging the rails. Stacked gold chains and a bold statement neckpiece bearing the letter ‘K’—a gnod to his ‘King Khan’ legacy sealed his look.
The actor’s Met Gala presence was kept unconfirmed till the last minute. The event is being co-chaired by Pharrell, A$AP Rocky, Colman Domingo, and Lewis Hamilton. The hosts for the night are Teyana Taylor, La La Anthony, and Ego Nwodim.

SRK’s look for the night blends traditional Indian vibes with Parisian tailoring, so a regal vibe and bejewelled look were expected. In his 60s now, the actor’s charm has been ruling the Bollywood industry for decades. Being one of the world’s wealthiest and most popular actors, his arrival at the event is no less than a history maker. Yes, he’s a late entrant to the Met—and that’s probably because this is also the first time the event’s theme, selected by Andrew Bolton, the chief curator of The Costume Institute, is iconic in itself, celebrating the styling of Black diasporic identity. Something the world would’ve wanted SRK to pull off—because when we talk dandyism, we’re not just talking crisp lapels and tailored flair. It’s the attitude, the aura, the statement. It’s about who’s wearing it and what they stand for. Dandyism, in this context, isn’t just a fashion moment, it’s a cultural flex. It reflects identity, pride, and power.

The theme celebrates the rise of Afro-Americans who didn’t just challenge the white stereotype, they rewrote the rules of style and presence. And who better to echo that energy than SRK, whose influence goes far beyond borders. Earlier, Fans of the actor gathered outside his NYC hotel (Mandarin Oriental) with posters and cheers, braving the pouring rain hours before the event to catch a glimpse.
On Monday, just hours before the annual haute couture fundraising festival kicked off, Sabyasachi teased SRK’s look on Instagram, hinting that the outfit drew inspiration from the Royal Bengal Tiger. In a story, he wrote, “KING KHAN BENGAL TIGER.” This year’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” celebrates Black dandyism. It’s also SRK’s first time gracing this prestigious gala. Met 2025 marks the debut of another Bollywood star, Kiara Advani, and Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh, too. Earlier, Alia Bhatt lit up the carpet twice, while Deepika Padukone was a regular at the festival for a few years. Priyanka Chopra, a Met regular, has arrived in Balmain.

Co-chaired by Pharrell, A$AP Rocky, Colman Domingo, and Lewis Hamilton, the event is being hosted by La La Anthony, joined by Teyana Taylor (singer, actor, style icon) and SNL’s Ego Nwodim. The exhibition is curated by Andrew Bolton. The gala also sees LeBron James as the honorary chair. The event is streaming live on Vogue’s official social media handles including YouTube.
