Filmmaker Mahmood Farooqui, who is being tried for allegedly raping an American research scholar, on Monday concluded his deposition before the fast-track court.
Denying the allegation of rape, Farooqui concluded his deposition by claiming he has been falsely implicated. Additional Sessions Judge Sanjiv Jain will take up the case for hearing again on December 3.
The pending pleas by the complainant — for further examination regarding a call made by her and further examination of another prosecution witness — will be taken up that day.
The court had earlier framed charges against Farooqui, saying, “On March 28, at the accused’s residence in Sukhdev Vihar, you (Farooqui) committed rape of the prosecutrix in the manner as defined under Section 375, punishable under Section 376 of the IPC. Let the charge be framed”.
