KK’s daughter Taamara shares emotional post on singer’s birth anniversary: ‘Hope we can eat cake together again’

Along with the photo, she wrote, “Happy birthday dad, love you more than I’ll ever be able to explain🌎❤️ Miss you so much, thanks for coming back to life at least in my dreams. I hope we can eat cake together again sometime.”

KK passed away in May 2022 after performing at a concert in Kolkata. The singer’s sudden demise came as a shock to his fans and his family members. He was 53. Days after his death, his son Nakul shared a note in his father’s memory and spoke about his pain. “Took me a while to come to terms with what happened 3 weeks ago. Even now the pain is physical, like I’m being choked, as though people are standing on my chest. I wanted to say something, share anything about my dad but I finally understood immobility in a state of shock. I finally comprehend true pain, I’ve only now realised the privilege you granted me, not the privilege of a comfortable life, I always knew I was blessed in that regard. The greatest privilege I ever had was the opportunity to witness you everyday,” read a part of his note.

On Father’s Day in 2022, his daughter wrote a note calling him the “cutest most loving dad”. A part of her note read, “Life is dark without you dad. You were the cutest most loving dad, who’d come home after a gig and wait to come lie down and give us cuddles. I miss you, I miss eating with you, I miss our laughing sessions, I miss our secret snacking rituals in the kitchen, I miss our farting competitions, I miss showing you my music and little voice note ideas, I miss your reaction dad. I miss holding your hand. You made us feel so safe and happy and loved and lucky. You were the realness this world needed, and now that you’re gone, none of it feels real. But your unconditional love, has unknowingly prepared us to handle, even something like this. Your love is our strength.”

KK was a celebrated singer in Indian films. He first tasted fame with the release of his first album Pal. He then became known for singing Bollywood songs like “Tadap Tadap” (Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam), “Dus Bahane” (Dus), “Tune Maari Entriyaan” (Gunday), “Gori Gori” (Main Hoon Na), “Tu Jo Mila” (Bajrangi Bhaijaan), “Kya Mujhe Pyaar Hai” (Woh Lamhe) and many others. He also sang in Tamil, Marathi, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali and Malayalam, among many other languages.
