Actor Kartik Aaryan will be seen next in Pati Patni Aur Woh, where he will share screen space with Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Pandey. There has been confusion whether the film is a remake of the original movie with the same storyline.
At the launch of Filmfare’s November issue, Kartik shared his film is not an exact remake of the original Pati Patni Aur Woh, which was made in 1978 by B.R.Chopra. The film starred Sanjeev Kumar, Vidya Sinha and Ranjeeta Kaur.
Kartik Aaryan said, “It did scare me that it is a remake of the Sanjeev Kumar classic. But our film is newly written. All characters are new, and so is the story. The only thing which is similar is the title and basic context, apart from that, it is a new film. Once you will see the trailer, you will know (the difference). Sanjeev sir is legendary and I can’t fill his shoes ever.”
The actor also opened up about Bhool Bhulaiya 2, a sequel to Akshay Kumar starrer Bhool Bhulaiya.
He said, “Bhool Bhulaiya is one of my favourite films. It is one of the most loved psychological horror comedies. In that space, we are making a sequel now. I have been a big Akshay Kumar fan, and everybody knows it because I have always spoken about how I look up to him and his work. He is our country’s superstar. So it is laughable when people say that I have replaced him in Bhool Bhulaiya 2.”
There was a lot of chatter that Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan started dating on the sets of Imtiaz Ali’s film.
While Kartik did not speak about his relationship with Sara, he opened up about the “life changing experience” he had while working with Imtiaz.
He said, “All I can say is that I have got an opportunity to work with one of my favourite filmmakers. The experience that I have gained while working with him has been life changing. I have learned a lot. It has changed my thought process, and the way I perceive things. It has changed me from within. I think it is the Imtiaz Ali magic. I am very excited for that film.”
While Kartik Aaryan has three major projects in his kitty, he has also had to reject quite a few films. The actor was asked if he feels a pinch when he has to reject films.
He said, “I have rejected some films because I haven’t liked them, or I thought that maybe they wouldn’t even be such huge hits if I were to act in them. I have never regretted a choice that I have made. Never. I may sound overconfident when I say this, but I truly believe that the things that I am doing are the right things. Because even before this, I have never done things according to what people have said. I trust my gut feeling as it has been working for me. It would be a useless journey if I start thinking what it would be if I did a certain film or not.”
“I think it is a good thing if films that you reject, work out. It is a learning process”, Kartik Aaryan concluded.
