Karisma Kapoor breaks silence after ex-husband Sunjay Kapur's death.

This month has been challenging for Karisma Kapoor, whose ex-husband, businessman Sunjay Kapur, passed away on June 12. The actor, who shares two children, Samaira and Kiaan, with Sunjay, attended his funeral in New Delhi and the subsequent prayer meet. Karisma, who turned 51 on June 25, chose not to celebrate her birthday this year due to the family’s tragic loss. However, on Thursday, she acknowledged the heartwarming wishes from fans and friends.

The actor took to her Instagram handle and wrote a brief note on her Stories, “Thank you everyone for ur warm wishes and support (red heart and folded hands emojis).” This is the first time Karisma has shared a post since the death of her ex-husband, Sunjay Kapur.

On Karisma Kapoor’s special day, her sister Kareena Kapoor Khan posted a supportive note and acknowledged the tough times they have gone through. “This is my most favourite picture of you both (heart emoji)… To the strongest and the bestest girl in the universe… It’s been a tough year for us,” she wrote in the caption.

Sunjay Kapur passed away on June 12 during a polo match in England. His friend and business associate Suhel Seth told ANI, “Sunjay died of a heart attack, apparently after swallowing a bee during a polo match in England.”

Sunjay tied the knot with Karisma Kapoor in 2003. In 2014, Karisma and Sanjay filed for divorce with mutual consent, which was finalised in 2016. He got married to Priya Sachdev after a year of his divorce from Karisma.
