Karan Johar on Sunday posted lovely Father’s Day wishes for not only his children– Yash and Roohi– but also actor Alia Bhatt, who considers him a father figure. Karan Johar launched Alia Bhatt in the movies with his 2012 romantic-comedy Student of the Year. The duo have not only worked together repeatedly since, but have also remained quite close on a personal level.

Sharing a photo of himself with Alia on Instagram, Karan Johar posted an emotional caption.”My baby girl!! @AliaBhatt. My beautiful beginning of being a parent. Love you so much.” A few hours before the story, Karan had taken to Instagram to dedicate a heart-warming post for Yash and Roohi.

He had said he felt ‘blessed’ to be a father and that his aim is to raise them “as individuals and never stereotype them by gender.” The director also shared adorable photos with Yash and Roohi. “Blessed to be a father…. My endeavour is to raise them as individuals and never Stereotype them by gender … teach them inclusivity and humanity in equal measure,” he wrote talking about the kind of parent he wants to be.

He addressed the need to do “conscious parenting” in today’s time and age. “Children are extremely impressionable so what we say around them truly matters! #happyfathersday to every understanding, supporting but never controlling father…” he concluded.
