Kangana Ranaut has once again spoken about same-sex marriage. (Photo: Kangana/Instagram) Actor Kangana Ranaut is known for voicing her opinions on pertinent and topical issues. The actor, who was recently in Haridwar to perform the Ganga aarti, also had a small media interaction at the location.
Besides her films, Kangana opened up about the topic of same-sex marriage, which is currently being heard in the Supreme Court. The actor mentioned that marriages are made when love blossoms and there is compatibility between any two people.
Speaking in Hindi, Kangana said, “Jo shaadi hoti hai, woh dil ke rishte hote hai. Jab logo ke dil mil gaye hai baaki kuchh logo ki jo preference hai, usme hum kya bol sakte hai (Marriages happen when two hearts meet. And when their hearts have met, who are we to say anything?).”
A few days ago, Kangana had spoken about the issue on her Twitter handle as well. She emphasised how someone’s identity should not be flaunted as a medal and schooled parents about how they should handle the situation if their children speak to them about such subjects.
“What you do in the world is your identity, not what you do in bed. Whatever your sexual preferences are they must remain in your bed only. Don’t make them your identity card or medals and flaunt every where. Most importantly don’t roam around with a knife to cut every throat who don’t agree with your gender. I am again saying your gender is not your identity don’t make it that way. Free yourself from gender or any other limiting perception…. Rise and shine as who you are and Dharma says you are God absolute divine way beyond the physical…” she wrote.
Besides Kangana, another Bollywood celebrity who has spoken about the matter is filmmaker Hansal Mehta, who had also made a movie in 2015 about same-sex love called Aligarh, which starred Manoj Bajpayee and Rajkummar Rao in pivotal roles.
