Hrithik Roshan has had a few missteps. Yami Gautam has been dormant of late. Together, they appear to have a thrilling ride planned for us and it is called Kaabil. As Kaabil’s trailer landed on Tuesday, many of our questions were answered.

Yes, both Yami and Hrithik’s characters are visually impaired but that hasn’t dimmed their zest for life. Theirs is a love story full of dreamy dates, dances together and long conversations. Wedding seems to be a natural progression. As Yami wrote on Twitter about Kaabil, “Their love was the light they ever needed.”

Or as Rakesh Roshan, Kaabil’s producer, wrote, “What can be a bigger light than true love.” In this perfect paradise of Rohan (Hrithik) and Su (Yami) enter the two villains, played by the Roy brothers – Rohit and Ronit.
Su becomes the victim of something terrible and when law fails to help him, Rohan takes it in his own hands. He makes his perceived weakness his strength. The film’s action sequences are slick and stylish and, given the premise and the fact that it has been directed by Sanjay Gupta, would be a treat to watch.

The film is set to release on January 26 when it will go head-to-head with Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Raees. The box office clash is unfortunate for both the stars whose last films were duds. While SRK’s Dilwale failed to enthuse audience, Hrithik’s Mohenjo Daro also failed to work at BO.

Yami Gautam on Kaabil

“My character is different from what I have done. Hrithik and I are playing blind people in the film. It required a certain kind of homework. It is challenging not just for the actors but also for the director and the rest of the crew. But everyone is so much into their zone and they know exactly what they want. I think everybody is working really hard to rise above the script,” she had said earlier in an interview.
