Despite trying for several months, the makers of Force 2 starring John Abraham, Sonakshi Sinha and Tahir Raj Basin were denied permission to shoot their action drama in China. So, now producer Vipul Shah and director Abhinay Deo have decided to recreate parts of China to shoot the remaining portion of the film.

Vipul Shah, who didn’t want to compromise on the script, decided to shift base to Hong Kong.

“We were liasoning with a line producer in China for a long time. But the script has to be censored before permission is granted. There is an interesting angle on Indo-Chinese politics which they objected to. It’s integral to the narrative and we didn’t want to compromise on the script so we’ve decided to shift base to Hong Kong,“ Vipul said.

The filmmaker will be recreating several parts of China in Hong Kong, Malaysia or Singapore.

“We have the best technicians on board,“ he points out, adding they start in mid May and will wrap up in June. “In case Hong Kong doesn’t work out at the last minute there’s always Singapore or Malaysia.“ he said.

Force 2 will bring back its protagonist John Abraham, who played the fearless cop in the prequel. Sonakshi Sinha is one of the value additions to the cast with actor Tahir Raj Basin, who was last seen in Rani Mukerji starrer Mardaani, playing the negative character in the film.
