Janhvi Kapoor says mom Sridevi once showed up at her school because of a guy, reveals ‘conservative’ parents forbid her from dating when she was younger

When asked if Bollywood has shaped her idea of love, Janhvi said, “It really depends on your frame of mind and the people in your life. Yes it has influenced my view on love a lot. Like, if a person isn’t that tadpaoing and dying for me and thinking about me, I’m like, then, ‘What are you doing? This isn’t fast food.'”

The actor also spoke about her first serious relationship, and shed light on why it did not work out. She said, “My first ever serious boyfriend was that same age and we were like chup chup ke milna and all of that, and there was a thrill in that. But unfortunately, that relationship ended because I had to lie so much. Mom and dad were like, ‘No, you will never have a boyfriend.’ They were very conservative.”

She added, “That’s when I realised, having your parents’ approval and having transparency with them makes everything so easy. It makes you feel so much more confident about your decisions, and having them to share things with and vice versa, it’s just very wholesome.” Janhvi is rumoured to be dating Shikhar Pahariya. On the work front, Janhvi was last seen in the film Bawaal opposite Varun Dhawan. She will next be seen in Mr and Mrs Mahi opposite Rajkummar Rao.
