Janhvi Kapoor quotes disgraced actor Kevin Spacey on shielding your true self, Reddit says, ‘Inappropriate choice of quote and person’

Asked about her relationship with social media, Janhvi said in an interview with Film Companion that social media is great for ‘paying the bills’, but she’d happily to stick to her ‘primary job’, which is acting. “I will say this, I think I underestimated the weapon that social media can be in creating a perception. Ormax did an analysis on one of my films, and they said, ‘Janhvi is great in X film, she’s so much better than we expected her to be. But on social media, she’s completely different, she’s putting hot pictures, it’s confusing’,” she added. Janhvi continued, “I thought it was all fun and games, that I could do a GRWM video and it won’t affect the fact that I’m playing Gunjan Saxena or Mili. But it does create a certain perception, and I don’t think I’m equipped to calculate these things, so I’ve started taking it into consideration. But if anything is going to come in the way of my primary work, it’s not worth it. Kevin Spacey said, ‘The less that people know about you, the easier it is for them to believe the characters you play on screen’.”

In a recent interview with right-wing journalist Tucker Carlson on X, Spacey slammed Netflix for firing him, and said that he put the streamer on the map. “It is bizarre that they decided to publicly cut ties with me on allegations alone – allegations that have now been proven false. Because I don’t think there’s any question Netflix exists because of me. I put them on the map, and they tried to put me in the ground.”
