Lovebirds Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal may have opted for an intimate wedding, but the spirits were high. They had a civil marriage, which took place at Sonakshi’s apartment in Bandra, Mumbai, on Sunday evening. Hours after the wedding ceremony, they hosted a wedding reception at Bastian, a restaurant in Mumbai. While the new bride Sonakshi dressed in a red saree and sported sindoor and bindi, Zaheer chose an off-white ensemble. The wedding reception was attended by families and friends, including Anil Kapoor, Raveena Tandon, Kajol and Saira Banu among many others.

Earlier in the evening, after Sonakshi and Zaheer shared the first images from their wedding ceremony, which was attended by family and friends, several videos and pictures from the festivities surfaced online. Paparazzi videos offer a peek into the fun-filled ceremony, attended by Sonakshi and Zaheer’s loved ones, including friends from the industry.

In a heartwarming clip, Zaheer is seen touching Sonakshi’s parents, Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha’s feet as soon as the couple exchanged their vows. The senior actor and his wife, Poonam look both happy and emotional. In another video, which is winning the internet’s hearts, Zaheer holds an excited Sonakshi in a long embrace after registering their marriage, kissing his bride on the cheeks while friends and family cheer them on. Dressed in ivory and off-white outfits, the couple kept their look muted and minimalistic. The Dabangg actor’s wedding saree holds an emotional significance and is an ode to her mother, Poonam as she chose to wear her vintage saree and jewellery.

In other footage shot just before the wedding, an elegant Sonakshi is seen making a stunning entry underneath a phoolon ka chaadar (canopy of flowers), accompanied by an emotional Saqib, her brothers, and cousins who walk her down the aisle. A photograph shared on a paparazzi handle features the Heeramandi actor in her bridal attire, posing in front of a mirror. Sonakshi looks pristine in an ivory saree, with white rose gajra in her hair and diamond and pearl jewelry to accessorise her look.

Following their civil marriage, the couple arrived for their wedding reception for which Sonakshi opted for a red saree. She completed the look with red bindi, sindoor and heavy gold and kundan jewellery. Zaheer was seen in a white bandhgala.

Among the celebrities present were Sonakshi’s close friends Huma Qureshi, Saqib Saleem, and co-star Aditi Rao Hydari, who was accompanied by her fiancé and actor Siddharth. Anil Kapoor, Aanand L Rai, Chunky Pandey also attended the wedding, and Kajol was seen arriving at the ceremony, looking elegant.
