Mass cancellation and delay of IndiGo flights in India over the past three days has led to furious customers to crowd at different airports. While the airline has issued apologies twice, expressing regret over the ongoing situation, the anger of stranded passengers has only gotten worse. Several celebrities were also affected by flight delays and cancellations, including dancer-actor Lauren Gottlieb and actor Jay Bhanushali.
Lauren Gottlieb, who was supposed to fly to Dubai on Friday, told the paparazzi outside Mumbai airport that her flight had been cancelled. While talking to the paparazzi after exiting the airport with her luggage, Lauren said, “This is public service announcement. Do not take IndiGo. Everything you are seeing online, is so… what’s happening. It looks like the apocalypse inside.”

Lauren was in a foul mood after her plans were disrupted. “All the flights to Dubai, where I am going- cancelled! Everything cancelled. There are hundreds of people in there. It looks like some disaster has happened and I feel trauma right now. Do not fly IndiGo, especially now, maybe not ever. But especially now. Just don’t do it!” she added.
Taking to his Instagram handle, Jay Bhanushali shared a couple of Stories to express his frustration. The actor revealed that he had to take a short road trip to cover the distance and take a late night flight back to Mumbai from Pantnagar. In another Instagram Story, he wrote, “After so many hours of travel I deserve to be welcomed with this song.. Thank you Indigo for the unplanned extended trip.”
On the other hand, Aly Goni also voiced his opinion regarding the matter on social media, calling a competitor airline a ‘thief’ for increasing the ticket prices. “It’s high time India should have one more domestic airlines… poore desh ki buri halat kardi @IndiGo6E ne… Aur sone pe suhaga Baaki airlines ne prices triple kardiya. kya chor aviation hai yaar humaare yaha.. unreal (the aviation in India are thieves for hiking the flight ticket prices, have made the condition of the country worse).”
In another Instagram Story, the actor shared a video of himself, urging everyone to show some sympathy towards the ground staff. “Indigo ka fault hai..ground staff ka nahi..idiot log (Ground staff isn’t at fault),” he wrote. Earlier, actor Naresh Vijaya Krishna, actor Nia Sharma and singer Rahul Vaidya had also revealed overpaying for Air India flight tickets to reach their destinations.

More than 1,000 IndiGo flights have been cancelled over the past four days. The cancellations have hit major hubs including Delhi, Bengaluru and Hyderabad, where hundreds of departures and arrivals have been scrapped in rapid succession. According to news agency PTI, the delays and cancellations are being caused due to ‘operational issues’ and ‘crew shortage’.
