Hrithik Roshan,Sussanne call it quits: Read full text

In a statement issued Friday evening,actor Hrithik Roshan announced his separation from wife Sussanne Khan. His statement read,“Sussanne has decided to separate from me and ended our 17-year relationship. This is a very trying time for the entire family and I request the media and the people to grant us our privacy at this time. I do not wish this news to disempower my fans about the institution of marriage in any way. I am a firm believer in this institution and respect and honour it at the highest level.”

The two have been married since 2000,soon after Roshan shot to overnight stardom with his debut film Kaho Na Pyaar Hai. They have two sons Hrehaan,7,and Hridhaan,5. Recent public appearances had suggested that there was trouble in the relationship,when Sussanne made a brief appearance at Rakesh Roshan’s birthday party and was also absent at the family’s annual Ganesh puja. The two were believed to have been living separately for sometime,with Sussanne citing her father’s (actor Sanjay Khan) ill health as the reason.

The news comes after the commercial success of Roshans’ latest venture Krrish 3 that released in November this year and made over Rs 200 crore at the box office.
