It’s Diwali time and Bollywood is gearing up to celebrate the festival of lights in a grand manner. While the leading lights of the industry will be hosting mega bashes at their residences, we spoke to a few celebs to find out how they ring in Diwali every year.
Ranveer Singh – I go to my nani’s place where we have puja and a big party. My entire family along with the extended family assemble under the same roof. People play cards. I however don’t drink or gamble. Kids burst crackers. It’s a lovely wonderful time to have the entire family together.
Anil Kapoor – I celebrate Diwali with my family. Diwali is the most purest festival in the world. Diwali is not celebrated that much in other countries. We need to spread it just like Eid or Christmas which is celebrated all around the world. Our efforts should be in making our country so big that our festival Diwali should be celebrated throughout the world.
Sonam Kapor: We have Lakshmi puja in our house first and then we go to our relative;s house for receiving Karchi. It’s a tradition where you get money in an envelope from your elders. I used to get 5000 rupees from my grandparents and I still look forward to it.
Riteish Deshmukh -There is a ritual in Maharshtraians where we have wake up early in the morning and bath. We then spend time with out family. We also celebrate Padwa which is all about gifting. Diwali is all about fun but I would also request kids to have a safe Diwali.
Genelia Deshmukh – It will be our son Riaan’s first Diwali. So we are all excited and looking forward to it.
Vidya Balan – I will be celebrating it with my mother as Siddharth (husband) is out of town. The best thing about Diwali starts six days back when we clean our entire house and dispose off unwanted things. During Diwali, I like making rangolis and lighting the lamps. I am not too fond of crackers. I would request all to have a safe and happy Diwali.
Abhishek Bachchan -Just like every year, Diwali this time too will be celebrated with my family,my wife and my daughter, Aardhaya.
Kiran Rao- This time Diwali would be celebrated away from home as Aamir Khan is shooting for Dangal. So I and Azad will be flying to Punjab to join him.

For Salman Khan, it will perhaps be promotions all the way, with his “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo”, slated to release just a day after the festival.

It’s ‘Rock On’ time for Farhan and Shraddha Kapoor. The duo will be spending the day shooting for the upcoming “Rock On 2” in Shillong.
