Happy Bhag Jayegi trailer starring Diana Penty and Abhay Deol has finally released and seems to be yet another funny, quirky film from the makers of Tanu Weds Manu. The movie is a romantic comedy produced by Anand L. Rai and Krishika Lulla. Film is written and directed by Mudassar Aziz. The movie also stars Jimmy Shergill and Ali Fazal in important roles.
The film’s trailer was launched at The Kapil Sharma Show on Thursday. Diana plays Happy, a feisty, free-spirited girl who has fled from her own marriage. Diana is seen speaking fluent Punjabi. Jimmy Shergill is playing Daman Singh Bagga, who is a powerful politician and wants to get married to Happy. Whereas Ali Fazal playing Guddu is Happy’s innocent lover. Abhay Deol is playing Bilal Ahmed, a charming and rich gentleman from the other side of the border.
Bilal from Pakistan narrates and introduces you to main characters. The use of Urdu words and tone is refreshing. The protagonist of the film, Happy accidentally crosses the border and what emerges is a tale full of twists and turns loaded with a multitude of hilarious, funny moments. The film also takes a light note on the India-Pakistan relations . In one scene, Happy is seen giving Indian currency note to a Pakistani auto-walla. In another scene, Bilal’s fiancee questions Bilal and Happy about their relationship. Later Happy is seen kidnapped by some people in Pakistan , but Happy doesn’t seem a bit intimidated by her kidnappers.
Romantic moments also follow with Abhay praising Happy for her carefree spirit. Last but not the least, we watch an exasperated Jimmy going to Pakistan to get back her bride and blames Pakistan for having played foul in his marriage. All this leads to suspense, confusion, and anticipation. The chaos that is an integral part of all Anand L Rai movies is apparent in the trailer. All in all, the trailer seems like a happy promise.
