Govinda wouldn’t notice a girl even if she walked in front of him in a bikini, ‘flirtatious’ Akshay Kumar had multiple girlfriends: Guddi Maruti

Guddi Maruti recently shared her insights on dating culture and romantic affairs in the Hindi film industry during the 90s, describing Akshay Kumar as flirtatious while highlighting Govinda's unwavering dedication to his work.

Bollywood actor Guddi Maruti, known for her memorable comedic roles, recently opened up about dating culture and romantic affairs in the Hindi film industry during the 90s. She revealed that affairs between lead actors were common and often became evident during outdoor shoots. Guddi also mentioned Akshay Kumar’s ‘flirtatious’ nature, noting that he had two or three girlfriends. She described Govinda, on the other hand, as a workaholic who remained unaffected by such advances, keeping his focus strictly on his work.

In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Guddi recalled, “All the heroes were chalu but not Govinda. He used to stay so busy in his work. We would say, ‘Chi Chi, even if a girl walks in front of you in a bikini, you wouldn’t notice her. You would only notice her smile and nothing else.’ He was genuinely like that; always engrossed in his work. Even if an actress tried to woo him, he would get shy.”

Discussing the on-set romances, she remarked, “Actors used to keep their relationships very discreet during that time. We would often learn who was seeing whom during these shoots, as they would sneak off to each other’s rooms. Acha, raat ko ye ho raha tha (Oh, this was happening at night). Actors would come and complain to me that the actress’ mother was accompanying her and hindering their romance. ‘Roz uthke aajate hai set pe (She comes to set every day),’ they would tell me. I would respond that the mother was accompanying the heroine because of them. Beti ko bacha rahi hai woh (She is protecting her daughter).”

During the conversation, Guddi Maruti acknowledged that Akshay Kumar was indeed very flirtatious during the time they worked together on Khiladi. She stated, “Kaafi girlfriends thi uski (He had many girlfriends). I know of his two or three lovely girlfriends, but I can’t say how many more he dated. On set, he was always very nice to work with.” However, she clarified that while Akshay may not have dated two or three girlfriends simultaneously, he was still considered a heartbreaker. “He would act so naive, but later we heard so many stories about him,” she added.
