Govinda, who is also a member of the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, had visited veteran actor Dharmendra at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on Tuesday.

Govinda 2024 gunshot incident

Govinda was admitted to the same Juhu hospital in October last year after he accidentally shot himself in the leg with his licensed revolver. An investigation was launched into the incident, which confirmed the accident claim.

He said he was getting ready to leave for a show in Kolkata that morning and was putting his revolver back in the cupboard when it fell and went off. On why he needed to have a firearm in his possession, Govinda said: “Fame is a flame and you have to be aware of the flame which is around, all over the world. It is like fire when you get successful and you have to tread carefully. When you have so many people who love you there are also some who are jealous of you which is also not an issue, it comes across in the form of spardha (competition)… but I would like to say that this incident should not be attached to anyone or anything. There should be no galatfehmi (misconceptions) around.”
