In Nikhil Advani’s rom-com, which releases today, Kangana has been paired opposite Imran Khan for the very first time.

Kangana Ranaut and Imran Khan play the role of students in the movie. Imran, who plays the role of Madhav Kabra (Maddy) is an architect student, while Kangana (Payal) studies fashion designing. Both have different ideologies and takes of life, yet Maddy is head over heels in love with Payal, who is carefree and has a different approach towards everything.

The college life spent together in a live-in is good and fairytale until a series of events turn things upside down.

The movie was initially titled ‘Saali Kutiya’ which according to the director Nikhil Advani was too gimmicky and had to be altered.

Kangana had to shoot for some intense scenes for which she observed “maun vrat” (kept quiet) on the sets. Kangana had said, “Katti Batti’ is a very intense movie and unfolds like a thriller and the second half conveys the darkness and intensity of emotions. Especially the last half an hour. It will make you cry.”

The movie is a roller coaster of emotions which left Aamir Khan teary eyed after he watched it.

Also releasing today is Zeishan Quadri’s ‘Meeruthiya Gangsters’ starring Jaideep Ahlawat, Aakash Tyagi, Vansh Bhardwaj, Nushrat Bharucha and Mukul Dev.
