Katrina Kaif and Aditya Roy Kapoor starrer Fitoor did not open to great numbers at the box office as it has managed to collect a mere Rs. 3.61 crore on the first day of its release.
From meeting the fans to dancing at colleges, talking to press and shopping at local markets of the capital, the lead actors of the film indulged in various promotional activities which might have just gone overboard. It is the box office number that speaks of the films, and this film, which is set in the beautiful locales of Kashmir seems to have lost its charm somewhere. Not opening to really good reviews the Abhishek Kapoor film did not earn as expected on the very first day. (Read: Fitoor review: Katrina Kaif’s film spares no one, not Kashmir, not Delhi)
Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the day one figures. He tweeted:

Indian Express critic, Shalini Langer in her review wrote, “Fitoor spares no one, not Kashmir, not Delhi, not London, not artists, and not even poor Pakistan, which somehow finds its way into this tale essentially about love traversing social divides. Meanwhile, having decided that in a film where all of Aditya Roy Kapoor’s hair is bunched upon his head and all of Katrina’s is plunged in a Chinar-esque red, in the hope perhaps that you don’t notice their blank faces below, Tabu takes it upon herself to act for the entire film.” (Also read: Katrina Kaif’s Fitoor vs Yami Gautam’s Sanam Re, audience review)
The film clashed on the box office with another love story Sanam Re. Since it is Valentine’s week, both the directors Abhishek Kapoor and Divya Khosla Kumar decided to face off with each other at the box office.
