Bollywood actors Soha Ali Khan and Sharman Joshi’s war comedy ‘War Chod Na Yaar’ helmed by debutant director Faraz Haider releases today.
In ‘War Chhod Na Yaar’,Faraz has delved into many layers of comedy – situational,spoofy,slapstick,tongue-in-cheek,and even over-the-top.
An apparently different storyline is the film’s USP. Now,with Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Besharam’ bombing at the box office the film hopes to hit a bullseye.
The films release was recently in danger, due to the references made to General Pervez Musharraf which had the Censor Board suddenly clamping down on the film. However the portions have now been edited.
In,War Chhod Do Na Yaar,Soha plays a war correspondent. The actress was last seen in Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster Returns in March last year
Soha also revealed that Dalip Tahil plays four roles in the film, that of the Defence Ministers of China,Pakistan,America and India. “They are all one person and the idea is to tell you that it is not a personality, but that he represents something. So what are we fighting against?” she explains.
‘3 Idiots’ actor Sharman Joshi will be seen as an Army officer in War Chhod Do Na Yaar. This is Sharman Joshi’s first release post Ferrari Ki Sawari in June 2012. However, the actor is not worried about having a single release this year, and is looking forward to 2014 when three of his films, belonging to different genres, hit the screens.
The film will be second consecutive release for actor Jaaved Jaaferi in a week. Jaaved seems to be at his funniest best as Captain Qureshi. “War Chhod Na Yaar” director Faraz Haider will also be seen playing a cameo in his war comedy.
