It’s Filmy Friday again and not one, two or three but eight films are going to hit theatres today. From the long list of small budget movies, there are just a few with some known cast – Mika Singh, Shaan’s ‘Balwinder Singh… Famous Ho Gaya’, Soha Ali Khan’s ‘Chaarfutiya Chhokare’, Suniel Shetty’s ‘Desi Kattey’ and Rannvijay Singh’s ‘3 A.M.’.
Last week’s releases ‘Daawat-e-Ishq’ and ‘Khoobsurat’ are likely to benefit from this Friday and the real excitement for all movie buffs will build up next week when two biggies – Bang Bang and Haider clash at the box office.
While one is ‘Knight and Day’ inspired ‘Bang Bang’ featuring hunk Hrithik Roshan and hottie Katrina Kaif, the other one is Vishal Bharadwaj’s ‘Haider’ with a brilliant starcast including Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Tabu, Irrfan Khan and Kay Kay Menon.
Talking about today’s releases, first up is ‘Balwinder Singh… Famous Ho Gaya’, which marks the Bollywood debut of famous singers Mika and Shaan. And Mika turns producer with the movie which is an out and out comedy. But the movie has failed to create any buzz despite having an item song by the hot hot Sunny Leone.
The only star name in today’s next release ‘Desi Kattey’ is Suniel Shetty who will be seen with with ‘Hate Story 2’ actor Jay Bhanushali. The film directed by Anand Kumar boasts of an interesting storyline. Let’s see how does this movie fare at the box office.
Next up is ‘3 AM’, a horror film, starring RannVijay Singh. But if you are a fan of the genre then this film is surely for you.
The other releases are Beyond – The Third Kind, Chaarfutiya Chhokare, Dear v/s Bear, Meinu Ek Ladki Chaahiye and Mumbai Delhi Mumbai
But all eyes will be on next week’s mega clash – Haider and Bang Bang. Talking about the clash, Shahid Kapoor had earlier said that both films – Bang Bang and Haider -can sustain together because they cater to different audiences.
“I saw the promo of ‘Bang Bang’ and I loved it and I will definitely go and watch the film. I wished good luck to Hrithik,” Shahid had said earlier.
While Vishal Bharadwaj’s ‘Haider’ is a desi adaptation of William Shakespeare’s ‘Hamlet’, ‘Bang Bang’, directed by Siddharth Raj Anand is a remake of the hit Hollywood movie ‘Knight and Day’, with Hrithik and Katrina Kaif in the lead.
Hrithik is confident that both the big releases, which are of completely different genres, will surely do well at the box office. “Coming October 2 will set a huge example that two big films releasing on the same day can work well. Both ‘Bang Bang’ and ‘Haider’ would do well and it is a five day weekend so it has scope for both the films to do equally well.”
If you are a diehard movie buff and can’t wait until next week then you have a long list of movie to choose from today. So, go and enjoy or else wait for our reviews coming in a few hours!
