Rumour has it that Fawad Khan has replaced Ayushmann Khurrana in Abhishek Chaubey’s ‘Udta Punjab’. He will now be romancing Kareena Kapoor in the movie. Interesting, isn’t it?
But what’s more interesting is the fact that Kareena Kapoor is said to be the reason for Ayushmann’s ouster as she did not want to be paired opposite a not so famous Ayushmann Khurrana. Ayushmann was later quoted saying to a news agency that he is ‘immune to rejections’.
The replacement episode has certainly left the actor in a bitter mood. We take you through some more bitter ousters from movies. Have a look:
Hera Pheri 3: Akshay Kumar out; Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham in
‘Kyun paisa paisa karta hai…?’ Akshay Kumar asked for a Rs 50 cr remuneration from the filmmakers for the third edition of the ‘Hera Pheri’ franchise. And the producers weren’t quite pleased with such exponential fee demands. Result?
Akshay Kumar was replaced by our very funny ‘Dostana’ duo – Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham, and we are still very excited.
Chalte Chalte: Aishwarya Rai out; Rani Mukerji in
This is a major one. Apart from breaking Aishwarya Rai and Rani Mukerji’s friendship, it also laid the foundation of the “Khan war”. It so happened, that in this Shah Rukh Khan’s production, Aishwarya had shot for almost half the movie, when her then beau Salman Khan showed up drunk on the sets and reportedly, caused a ruckus.
SRK didn’t like it and in order not to make matters worse, dropped Aishwarya off the venture. Rani Mukerji replaced her and the intertwined relations and dynamics of these superstars got worst.
Heroine: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan out; Kareena Kapoor in
Here’s a question. Who’s a heroine? Confused? Well, Madhur Bhandarkar gave us a perfect answer – one who cannot get pregnant during the course of the movie.
So while, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was finalised and signed on the dotted line for his magnum opus ‘Heroine’, she got pregnant and had to quit the project. This didn’t please Madhur much; he suggested for a no pregnancy clause in an actress’ contract. Rightly so.
Kareena Kapoor replaced Aishwarya overnight. While the movie didn’t do that great and Aaradhya, Aishwarya’s daughter did, we respect the decisions.
Kya Kool Hain Hum 3: Riteish Deshmukh out; Aftab Shivadasani in
For all we know, Riteish Deshmukh is a changed man, especially after his ‘villain’ous act in the 2014 movie ‘Ek Villain’. Having been appreciated from all quarters for his brilliant portrayal of a conflicted man, Riteish has vowed to refrain from any kind of ‘sex comedies’, the ones which force to say ‘you could have done better than that’. Also, multi starrers? No, no.
So the rising star said no to the third edition of ‘Kyaa Kool Hain Hum!’ franchise and Aftab Shivadasni replaced him. Aftab was quoted saying, “Riteish Deshmukh is the baap of sex comedies…” Pun intended, ehh?
Mother India: Raj Kapoor out; Sunil Dutt in
Not money, not dates, not preferences, only love was the reason in this case. That Raj Kapoor and Nargis had something more than friendship is a thing of common knowledge, but what it resulted into was pure destiny.
The role of Nargis’ son played by Sunil Dutt in ‘Mother India’ was earlier offered to Raj Kapoor. But Raj Kapoor couldn’t play a son to a woman he was rumoured to be in love with. Result? The role went to Sunil Dutt.
And as destiny would have it, it was during the shoot of this movie, that Sunil Dutt saved Nargis from a fire that broke out on the sets and the two eventually fell in love and later married each other.
