Actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhtar and BJP spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao have engaged in a battle on Twitter over the latter’s remarks on film stars. GVL Narasimha Rao took on all of film stars by publicly saying “In any case, most of our films stars have very low IQ, a very low general knowledge”.
This statement, however did not go down well with actor and filmmaker, Farhan Akhtar. He expressed his opinion on Twitter, “How dare you, sir?? @GVLNRAO And to all film people in his ranks.. here’s what he thinks of you. #shame”
Farhan seems to have taken quite a lot of offence over this statement of the BJP spokesperson. The politician said this while he was participating in a discussion on a television channel, about the Tamil film ‘Mersal’. The film has been stuck in a controversy for some of the scenes that are not pleasing for the ruling party. ‘Mersal’ makes some comments about GST and demonetisation and openly criticises them.
GVL Narsimha Rao soon responded to Farhan Akhtar’s statement on Twitter and said, “Farhan ji, Expressing an opinion is not a dare. Respect stars4work. Pl do take criticism in stride. No intolerance please!!”
The politician has asked Farhan to take criticism in his stride and also asked him to not be intolerant towards his opinions. The debate around ‘Mersal’ led the politician to make this generic statement that puts all the film stars under the same bracket.
How dare you, sir?? @GVLNRAO

Farhan Akhtar has not responded on this yet but looks like the politician’s opinion will incite some reactions from the film fraternity.
