Farhan Akhtar has finally come out of his shell and after directing many action movies, the director-actor has himself done some hardcore action sequences in his upcoming movie ‘Wazir’. The actor, who has got beaten up in most of his movies by the antagonists, sounded happy that he got to beat up people in the film.
Farhan was in Delhi for the promotions of Warzir on Tuesday (January 5).
When asked how ‘Wazir’ was different from his other movies in terms of shooting, since he has done action for the first time, Farhan said: “Well, in those I got beaten up, in this I got to beat people up. It’s a completely different part and a completely different film, so you can’t compare.
The actor, who has worked with the like of Priyanka Chopra, Vidya Balan and Deepika Padukone, said, “Honestly, having directed a lot of action films in the past was a great help as you know the know-how of how it’s done. And the fact is that you have to focus only on the shot that you’re doing, don’t worry about the entire sequence, because it’ll all come together. Camera also plays a very important role in any action film.” Took me time to convince people about my vision: Farhan Akhtar
Recently in an interview his co-actor in the film megastar Amitabh Bachchan had revealed that it was very tough shooting with Farhan. When asked about the same, Farhan quipped, “I don’t know what to say about that, because I find it hard to imagine that it is difficult for him to work with anyone. I don’t know what to make of it.” Disability Rights Group condemns ‘Wazir’ director Bejoy Nambiar; team apologises
The actor further clarified that it wasn’t intimidating working with Big B. “No it wasn’t intimidating. I was very excited, anxious to certain degree of course, because you want to be there with him as you know what he is capable of. And maybe for the first half an hour on the first day of shoot I had an out of body experience when we were together,” he said.
Farhan has directed many hit films including Dil Chahta Hai, Don, Don 2. He later made his acting debut with ‘Rock On’. When asked if he likes to take the director’s seat while shooting, he said, “Ya, when I’m tired and I want to sit down, I always grab his seat, since it is usually the most comfortable seat on the sets, but otherwise no.”
He also said that Wazir has 40 per cent romance – between husband and wife, bromance between friends.
Describing his character Danish, he said, “What I didn’t like about him is his loyalty to his family and to his friend and his mission. He is very focused about what he wants to do and he doesn’t put himself first.” Love story in ‘Wazir’ very intense, intimate: Aditi Rao Hydari
Farhan’s co-actor Aditi Rao Hydari, who has romanced the actor for the first time in this film, summed up by saying, “I think the fact that it’s a story that grips you right from the beginning and it holds you. There is an emotional investment and I think that is what keeps you hooked.”
Directed by Bejoy Nanbiar, ‘Wazir’ is all set to hit screens this Friday (January 8).
