Kangana Ranaut completes a decade in Bollywood today (April 28). Her debut film Gangster opposite Emraan Hashmi released on April 28, 2006. And it has been a roller coaster ride for Kangana having seen ups and downs both professionally and personally. While her performance was appreciated in Gangster, it was Fashion that brought out the true actress inside her. Her brilliant portrayal of a model helped her win a National award. Years later Queen catapulted her to the A-league and with Tanu Weds Manu Returns she sealed her numero uno position with a National Award.
With three National Awards in her kitty and also pocketing close to Rs 11 crore per movie today Kangana looks back at her 10-year-old journey with pride. In a statement sent to IndianExpress.com, Kangana said, “I am extremely proud of my Rags to Riches story, it’s fun to be a misfit or an underdog if you acknowledge your gifts and befriend your obstacles.”
Kangana, who is mirred in a legal controversy with Hrithik Roshan, has been putting up a brave front preferring to focus on her professional assignments in the public eye. She is currently shooting for Vishal Bhardwaj’s Rangoon.
