Deepika Padukone today has emerged as one of the top draws at the box office among female actors in Bollywood. The actress has to her credit five Rs 100 crore hits and a blockbuster women centric film (‘Piku’) as well. While she is definitely at the top of her game right now, things were not rosy when films post ‘Om Shanti Om’ started flopping. However, Deepika Padukone never let failure and criticism bog her down.
Sharing her success mantra with The IndianExpress.com, Deepika said, ” I am really fortunate to be in the movie business. This is something that I always wanted to be in and I am very passionate about it. Even when I was written off, I took it as a challenge and healthy criticism and worked on that. While hard work is key to success, it is also important to be passionate and do what you are passionate about and most importantly, enjoy yourself on the way. These have been my biggest learning.”
Deepika Padukone was the only Bollywood actress to be recognised as as super achiever at a function yesterday evening along with powerful women from other walks of lives. Speaking about her own achievements, Deepika modestly said, “There is a lot of women here who I draw inspiration from. Zia Mody being one of them. I do feel a small sense of achievement to be amongst these women. Usually we are awarded among our own fraternity. But to be amongst high achievers like these women is a great feeling.”
