There are very few Indian films which have touched the subject of homosexuality. Karan Johar’s Dostana is one such film.
The film was a story of two guys who in order to earn a place to live in Florida, lie about their sexuality. The film was a comic take on the term and did great at the box office. In fact, it is one of the major hits of its lead actors, Amitabh Bachchan, John Abraham and Priyanka Chopra. Today, on November 14, the film has completed eight years of journey and seems like the actors and the filmmakers are in the mood of recreating the same magic on the silver screen.
Abhishek, who got a lot of praise for his portrayal of Sameer Kapoor, took to Twitter to celebrate eight years of Dostana. In fact, the actor tagged producer Karan Johar, director Tarun Mansukhani, co-stars John Abraham and Priyanka Chopra to tell them that it’s time to have a reunion. The actor wrote, “What??? 8 years already? Time for a reunion kids @karanjohar @priyankachopra @TheJohnAbraham @Tarunmansukhani #8yrsofDostana.”

Along with the post, he also shared poster of the film. In response to Abhishek’s tweet, director of the film, Tarun Mansukhani said, “Reunion?? U mean…Dostana A-GAY-N?”, which hints towards a sequel of the film soon.
But John and Priyanka have not yet expressed their views if they would want to be a part of this film again. Dostana created a trend and helped Abhishek and John explore their comic sides. After Dostana, Abhishek was seen playing somewhat similar character in Bol Bachchan, which also starred Ajay Devgn. And the song Desi Girl is still associated with Priyanka Chopra, who is busy making a mark in Hollywood with Baywatch.
