Tigmanshu Dhulia, who was last seen as an actor in Hero, is quite clear that he will only accept acting offers that give him strong author backed roles. He is not keen on doing roles where he will be reduced to mere punching bags for heroes.
Citing the example of Amitabh Bachchan-Farhan Akhtar starrer Wazir which he rejected, Tigmanshu told IndianExpress.com, “I can’t do a role where the hero is seen punching me. Bejoy(Nambiar) offered me the role of the main villain in Wazir. But I didn’t accept it as I was not interested in getting beaten up by Farhan Akhtar.”
Emphasising that he will only take up roles that suit his directorial image, Tigmanshu said, “I have to protect my directorial image. I can’t take up any role just for money. I won’t do frivolous role or anything that gives a wrong message.”
On the directorial front, Tigamanshu is looking forward to the release of his next called Yaara starring Vidyut Jamwal. The filmmaker is also gearing up to roll out Milan Talkies and his other magnum opus on Subhash Chandra Bose. “I am making a film Bose and the trails at Red Fort,” said Tigmanshu.
