Dhurandhar ticket prices range from Rs 90-Rs 2,300 after film gets round-the-clock shows
In some cities, Dhurandhar has shows through the day and the range of the ticket prices makes it seem like there's something for everyone.
A still from the trailer of Dhurandhar.Ranveer Singh’s much-anticipated film Dhurandhar finally hit theatres on December 5. The Aditya Dhar directorial film opened to an impressive Rs 32.5 crore worldwide on Day 1, supported by more than 6,200 shows in India alone, according to Sacnilk. It seems like cinema chains are anticipating that the film will experience more footfall in the next few days, and so, they have added more shows. In Mumbai, some theatres are running shows around the clock, with the earliest show beginning at 12:45 am and the last one scheduled at 11:55 pm.
High ticket prices stir conversation
Even before its release, Dhurandhar grabbed headlines for one major reason: sky-high ticket prices, which now vary drastically across cities and cinema chains.
At Maxus Cinemas, Bhayander — which is running shows as early as 12:45 am, 1:35 am, 2:20 am, 3:05 am, 4:05 am, 4:50 am, 5:30 am, and 6:15 am — tickets for early morning shows range between Rs 149 and Rs 499. Late-night shows at 11:00 pm and 11:55 pm go up to Rs 599. The ticket prices at multiplex chains range from Rs 210-Rs 1,550. The single screen prices range between Rs 90-Rs 150.

Delhi–NCR
The earliest show in the region starts at 8 am. The tickets at multiplexes range from Rs 250-Rs 2,300, and the tickets at single screens are available for as low as Rs 90.
The multiplex tickets in Bengaluru range between Rs 200-Rs 1,650 and in single screens, the tickets are available for as low as Rs 120.
Long runtime and A Certificate haven’t deterred audience
The film also made news for its 214-minute runtime, making it one of the longest mainstream Hindi films since Jodhaa Akbar. It has also received an A certificate, leading many to assume this could affect footfall. However, trade experts disagree.
Film trade analyst Komal Nahta told SCREEN: “An A certificate may appear to be a deterrent, but history shows that if the content is strong, it does not affect business. ‘Animal’ was over three hours long and A-certified, yet it became one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of the year. If a film engages you, length doesn’t matter.”
Box office outlook
If Dhurandhar maintains its current momentum, it could, within two weeks, surpass the Rs 302 crore lifetime collection of Ranveer Singh’s highest-grossing film Padmaavat (2018).
With rising show counts, premium pricing, and strong word-of-mouth, Dhurandhar has turned into one of the most talked-about releases of the year.
