Dhurandhar 2 movie advance booking box office collection report: Ranveer Singh’s film earns Rs 24 cr in India, amasses over $2 million in North America 9 days before release

Dhurandhar 2 Hindi version’s earning

As per Sacnilk, the lion’s share of the Rs 18.67 crore figure comes from the native Hindi version of Dhurandhar 2, which earned Rs 18.18 crore by selling 3,24,151 tickets. This is excluding the Dolby Cine format, which earned an additional Rs 1.58 lakh through 203 tickets. The Hindi version is followed by the dubbed Tamil version, which earned Rs 23.61 lakh by selling 15,403 tickets.

Dhurandhar 2 earnings in regional languages

The dubbed Telugu version follows closely, earning Rs 18.58 lakh through the sale of 7,843 tickets, almost half of the number of tickets sold in Tamil. The Telugu version has been impacted by the tough competition from Harish Shankar’s action thriller Ustaad Bhagat Singh, starring Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, which is also slated to release in cinemas on the same day, Thursday, March 19, on the occasion of Eid, Ugadi, and Gudi Padwa.

The Kannada dubbed version lags far behind at just 479 tickets, earning only Rs 2.04 lakh through their sale. This is despite the aversion of a major clash with Geethu Mohandas’ action thriller Toxic: A Fairytale for Grownups. The Yash-starrer was postponed from March 19 to June 4 owing to the tension caused by the Gulf War in the Middle Eastern countries, where the KGF superstar enjoys a stronghold.

The least contribution in the advance booking of Dhurandhar 2 comes from the dubbed Malayalam version, which sold only 936 tickets for Rs 2.26 lakh. At Rs 24 crore, Dhurandhar 2 is thus on the verge of breaking the record from last year of Sujeeth’s Telugu action thriller They Call Him OG, starring Pawan Kalyan, which earned Rs 25 crore from paid previews alone to become the biggest Indian premiere ever.

Dhurandhar 2 beats Stree 2

Dhurandhar 2 has already surpassed the biggest Bollywood premiere ever by beating Amar Kaushik’s 2024 horror comedy Stree 2, starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, which earned Rs 10 crore from paid previews alone. With nine days still to go for the release, the film is likely to add more screens and sell many more tickets in the coming days. In fact, it’s yet to open the advance booking for the extended opening weekend.

Dhurandhar 2’s North America earnings

In North America, the advance booking for the extended opening weekend has already been kicked off. While the advance booking for paid previews in the US and Canada have already soared past $750,000, it’s yet to beat the record held by Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s 2023 family crime drama Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor, which is the biggest Bollywood premiere in North America at $1.2 million.

Dhurandhar, however, has surpassed the $1 million mark for the opening day in the US and Canada and the $2 million mark for the opening weekend. Given this trajectory, it may soon challenge the highest grossing opening weekend for an Indian film in North America, scored by SS Rajamouli’s 2022 Telugu action epic RRR at $3.46 million.

Sukumar’s 2024 Telugu action thriller Pushpa 2: The Rule follows closely at $3.34 million follows closely, followed by SS Rajamouli’s 2017 Telugu action epic Baahubali 2: The Conclusion at $3 million. Trade estimates suggest Dhurandhar 2 may surpass all of them and eventually score $4 million in its opening weekend in the US and Canada.

Dhurandhar 2, co-produced by Aditya and Lokesh Dhar’s B62 Studios and Jyoti Deshpande-led Jio Studios, will see Ranveer, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi, and Sara Arjun reprise their roles from the first part. It tells the story of Indian spy Jaskirat Singh, who infiltrates the terror network of Pakistan to avenge the excesses against India.
