Comedy has changed over the years: Sulbha Arya

“If you cross the boundary line then its wrong, if basic values are kept intact then it is fine. We should not cross ‘Lakshman Rekha’ while doing comedy just because we want audience to laugh,” said the actress, who will be featuring in upcoming Marathi movie ‘Guru Pornima’, scheduled for release on September 12.

Veteran actress Sulbha Arya, who was the part of Indian television industry’s first sitcom ‘Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi’, feels that comedy as a genre has changed over the years.

The comedy was innocent in 80s. That time life was also very simple. Whatever comedy that happens now is not bad, but
it has changed along with the world. The audience has changed and accordingly we can see the difference in this genre,” said
Sulbha, who has acted in films like ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’, ‘Yuvraj’ and ‘Nautanki Sala’.
