Box Office report: ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’ sails ahead,’Zanjeer’ is a ‘debacle’

Shuddh Desi Romance performed fairly overseas collecting nearly Rs 5 crore.

Indian Express’ film critic Subhra Gupta in her review said that Zanjeer is ‘neither faithful remake nor campy,knowing tribute. It’s just a poor copy.’ So why remake the orignal?

However, Shuddh Desi Romance had a new story and fresh angle. Subhra Gupta said: “The nicest part of this romcom,which triangulates girl-boy-girl in a manner Bollywood is just waking up to,is that it lets its characters talk.”
