It will not be a surprise if Aamir Khan starrer Thugs of Hindostan will be taken off the screens soon. The epic adventure drama which was the Diwali release of the year has failed miserably to impress the audience. Despite a stellar star cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh, the much-awaited film of the year failed to perform at the box office.
The film’s total collection in India stands at Rs 145.95 crore by the end of its second weekend. In Taran’s words, “#ThugsOfHindostan went further downhill in Weekend 2.”
Trade guru Taran Adarsh had recently shared the overseas box office figures of the Aamir-Amitabh starrer. He tweeted, “#ThugsOfHindostan fizzles out in international markets… OVERSEAS total after Weekend 2: $ 8.65 million [₹ 61.89 cr]… Breakup of key markets: #USA + #Canada: $ 1.93 mn; #UAE + #GCC: $ 3.02 mn; #UK: $ 890k; Rest of the World: $ 2.81 mn; Few cinemas yet to report… #TOH.”
Thugs of Hindostan is now struggling to stay on the screens. Produced by Yash Raj Films, Thugs of Hindostan brought Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan together on screen for the first time. The film released on November 8.
