Irrfan’s second Bollywood film of the year Qarib Qarib Singlle has collected Rs 3.05 crore on its second day, taking its total earnings to Rs 4.80 crore. According to trade analysts Taran Adarsh and Girish Johar, the film is expected to pick up pace by the weekend. The other Khan of Bollywood is known for delivering films with content.
According to Irrfan, the film is already getting popular, “The love keeps coming in 💥#QaribQaribSinglle #Parvathy @QQSTheFilm @ZeeStudios_http://bit.ly/QQSBookMyShow ,” he said on Twitter, while sharing the ratings and reviews of various publications, including indianexpress.com.
“If the reviews, ratings and the word-of-mouth are good, it can earn upto Rs 9-10 crore by the end of the weekend. The trailers and promos of Qarib Qarib Singlle had generated a lot of excitement and their strategy of promotion has been decent. Nevertheless, this film also depends on a good word-of-mouth,” movie business expert Girish Johar had earlier told indianexpress.com.
There are more factors that might help Irrfan’s film rise and shine. Not has only the actor has developed a strong fan base of his own in the country, the year 2017 also witnessed a great shift in audiences’ viewing pattern. Excluding Golmaal Again and Judwaa 2, star studded, glamourous films witnessed less takers compared to well scripted films such as Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Newton and Irrfan’s own film Hindi Medium.

Film critic Shubhra Gupta wrote in her review,”The pace is just right: not too fast, not too slow. Things develop unhurriedly. This is the kind of film where nothing happens while everything is happening. The writers keep Yogi a little mysterious: where, for example, does he get his dosh from? Who, really, is he? I did want to know more about him. But there’s no mistaking the spark that glows between the unlikely Mr Yogi and the very likeable Ms Jaya, as they smile, squabble, and yes, snore their way through the film.”
