Despite a poor start, Saif Ali Khan film Baazaar has shown an upward trend in its box office collection. The film, which had earned Rs 3.07 crore on its opening day, has managed to mint Rs 4.10 crore on its second day, taking the total collection to Rs 7.17 crore. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the figures on Twitter and wrote, “#Baazaar picks up pace on Day 2… Witnesses 33.55% growth, which is a healthy trend… Needs to regain lost ground by scoring higher numbers on Day 3 and also on weekdays… Mumbai circuit is performing better… Fri 3.07 cr, Sat 4.10 cr. Total: ₹ 7.17 cr. India biz.”
Baazaar had a sluggish start. Starring Saif Ali Khan and Radhika Apte among others, the film has been directed by Gauravv K Chawla.

The Saif Ali Khan film is facing competition from Ayushmann Khurana’s Badhaai Ho at the box office.
Taran Adarsh had earlier tweeted, “#Baazaar had an extremely poor start in the morning shows, but picked up pace during the course of the day… Has fared much better than the recent Saif Ali Khan starrers… Mumbai circuit is driving the biz… Fri Rs 3.07 cr. India biz.”
The film has garnered mixed reviews from the audience and critics. Calling it an ‘uninteresting and uninvolving film’ in her review, the Indian Express’ film critic Shubhra Gupta wrote, “The treatment is moth-balled (a line in English is translated immediately after in Hindi) and hackneyed. Bad songs punctuate the proceedings. Background music is used to buoy almost every scene. We’ve seen almost each of those beats before, to the point we can tell what the character is going to say next.”
Badhaai Ho from the previous week is still going strong which can further worsen the case for Saif Ali Khan starrer.
