Arjun Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha were high in spirits all the previous week as their much awaited movie ‘Tevar’ was about to release. Having all the elements to make it a masala movie, the movie opened up quite well especially at single screen theatres. But the collections of the movie turned out to be only Rs 22.15 cr in the first weekend.
But as the weekend arrived, the collections dropped. The movie had to struggle to get even a Rs 40 cr nett weekend. Reportedly, ‘Tevar‘ collected Rs 7.05 cr nett, while on Saturday, the film gained Rs 7 cr nett. On Sunday, the collections were a meagre Rs 8.10 cr.
‘Tevar‘ was good in North and North-Western India including states like Rajasthan, Delhi, UP, Mumbai and Gujarat. Released across 2800-3000 screens, the movie directed by Amit Sharma has been made on the budget of Rs 40 Cr and is, apparently, struggling to even recover the costs.
The movie also stars Manoj Bajpai in a pivotal role.
