He may be the son of Bollywood producer Boney Kapoor, but Arjun Kapoor took his time to enter the industry. However, ever since he made his break in Bollywood, it’s been nothing short of fireworks for the actor.
Arjun Kapoor had signed a three-film deal with leading production house, Yash raj Films. He made his acting debut as the crass village ruffian, Parma in Habib Faisal’s crime drama, ‘Ishaqzaade’ opposite the feisty Parineeti Chopra. Arjun played the role of a powerful viallage man’s son who rapes a girl, only to fall in love with her.
‘Ishaqzaade’ was a grand success, owning to both the lead actor’s performances. Arjun was praised for his rustic look and act in the film. ‘Ishaqzaade’ opened to good reviews and performed well at the Box Office.

His second film, ‘Aurangzeb’ was not all that lucky. Directed by Atul Sabharwal, the action thriller played a dual role as he shared screen space with Prithviraj Sukumaran, Sashaa Agha, Rishi Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Swara Bhaskar and Deepti Naval among others. Though it opened to mixed reviews, the film did not do well commercially.
Next, Arjun Kapoor teamed up with young talent, Ranveer Singh in Ali Abbas Zafar’s ‘Gunday’, where the lads were both seen romancing the beautiful Priyanka Chopra. Set in old Calcutta, the film tells the tale of two young boys; Bikram and Bala who grow up to become the area’s deadly coal mafia. But, the film opened to mixed reviews and was an average performer.
In 2014, Arjun Kapoor appeared opposite the vivacious Alia Bhatt in a film adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s novel, ‘2 States’ by the same name. The duo played business school students who have try hard to get their parents to approve their relationship. The Abhishek Varman-directed film opened very well and was declared a super hit.

Arjun Kapoor’s last release was offbeat film, ‘Finding Fanny’, directed by Homi Adajania. Arjun joined a cast that included veteran names like Pankaj Kapur, Naseeruddin Shah, Dimple Kapadia and actress Deepika Padukone. Arjun was praised for his portrayal of Goan lad, Savio Da Gama in the film.
Arjun will now be seen playing the quintessential action hero in Amit Sharma’s ‘Tevar’ opposite Sonakshi Sinha, fighting the baddie, played by none other than Manoj Bajpayee. Expectations are sky-high as fans early wait to see the wonder that Arjun will bring to the screen.
Produced by his father, Bony Kapoor and uncle, Sanjay Kapoor, ‘Tevar’ will hit screens on January 9.
