He continued, “Fifty people in Como is doable. That’s what Virat Kohli did. Cricket is a religion in India, and he’s a god. He and Anushka got married in Tuscany. It was really beautiful. The closest family and friends, only 40 of them, including mum, dad, makeup artists and us… They smashed the wedding. It was the most beautiful wedding ever. No one troubled them. It was like someone had put a bubble around that place, and they could just be. They had the most magical wedding ever. As I was checking in, Barack Obama was checking out; it was a really cool and exclusive and beautiful property.”

Vishal said that no celebrity wedding that he has worked on has had more than 100 guests. He also said that not every couple wants to go ‘viral’ through their wedding. “Some of the best work I’ve done, they haven’t put their video out,” he said, mentioning that the most money that he has ever quoted for a wedding video is around Rs 3 crore, but the wedding was taking place across 35 days, four countries, and involved 42 outfits. He said that the biggest challenge with shooting wedding videos is taking someone like Deepika, who has been made to look so glamorous in the films of Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Karan Johar, and presenting them in an even more glorious light.

Vishal previously addressed why celebrities prefer keeping their weddings lowkey. He said on the All About Eve podcast, “Most of the film stars, they do this for a living. They get ready everyday with hair and makeup, wardrobe, surrounding them, fussing over them. So when you are getting married, you want to keep it chill, you want to keep it relaxed, you want to keep just the people you love.”
